In the Peloponnese, the University of Patras, in collaboration with the Decentralized Administration of the Peloponnese, Western Greece and Ionian Islands, is monitoring the effects of climate change and overexploitation of water resources in the area of the Ground Water Body (GWB) of the Larissos River, in order to improve the qualitative and quantitative status of the Ground Water Body (GWB) and to create a geoportal and a website for the publication of the project’s research.

- Creation of a climate model and prediction of the water balance in the region
- Supply and installation of equipment for monitoring hydrological and hydrogeological parameters
- Pilot application of artificial recharge in existing licensed drillings
- Installation of a permanent groundwater quality monitoring system in the pilot area
- Hydrogeological research on the delimitation of the brackish zone and the vulnerability of the aquifer
